2022 Wrapped

Well, its new year new me, right?
So this year my goal is to read more books than I read last year. That doesn't stop me from talking
about the books I read.
My favourite read of 2022 was Malibu Rising, written by Taylor Jenkins Reid. I recently got into her books and what I can say is that I am fully in love. Her books are transporting.

Malibu Rising, just like how the title suggests is set Malibu, in the August of 1983.
It also gives us flash backs in time from 1956 leading up to present day '83. The present day part of the book takes place in the span of one day. The book is essentially about the children of singer Mick Riva, who has been mentioned in other of Reid's books, most prominently in "The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo". The whole day leads up to the annual end of summer party which is hosted by the Riva siblings. This book was like a day at the beach, where at one point is very hot and sunny and then all of a sudden cloudy and windy, then hot and sunny all over again. This book is a very great start for people who are just starting out to read or people trying to get out of a reading slump.

Malibu Rising comes under the genres of historical fiction, psychological fiction and saga.
